London having the original brass gallery above two mahogany drawers with pretty satinwood crossbanding and original brass handles above a cylinder top desk with satinwood crossbanding and a figured mahogany panel. The panel opens to reveal a fine quality fitted interior consisting of six satinwood drawers with original brass handles, four pigeon holes, pen tray and a single original glass inkwell There is one missing It boasts the original leather writing surface which shows signs of being well used above one long drawer with satinwood crossbanding, stamped Maple & Co, original brass handles, satinwood inlaid stringing to the sides and back standing on four elegant square tapering mahogany inlaid legs with spade feet with original brass casters and united by a shaped mahogany inlaid stretcher. Maple & Co. was a British furniture and upholstery manufacturer established in 1841 which found particular success during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
