this wonderful early celluloid wind-up toy with the perfectly working walking mechanism housed in the metal suitcase. Two metal wheels under the suitcase propel the 4″ tall doll and a wire like a pedal moves his little legs as he walks. It is marked ‘Made in Occupied Japan’. on his back and the suitcase so made in 1950s There are no splits or cracks in the celluloid and nice vivid paint throughout. The mechanical action is great. A celluloid mechanical toy in such very good condition is hard to find. There is some minor age-related paint wear on the suitcase. no key but i can wind it up to show you it working
