The cloth  playing field is double sided. The  paper rules are there but coming apart at the seams The box is in good condition for age and is cardboard  with a snakeskin effect look it has minoru in gold lettering on the outside of the box. When you open the box there is fantastic  Edwardian period print of a race in full gallop the colors are amazing  The game was invented by E. St Clair and marketed by Jaques & Son Ltd as ‘Minoru’ in December, 1909- named after King Edward VII’s horse which famously won the Epsom Derby in that year. This game is a further development of Jaques’s “Ascot” (1891), but the horses are moved by the turn of a card, rather than by cords. This ‘snakeskin’ version is possibly a slightly later ‘austerity’ edition from the First World War period.Minoru, The New Race Game”, “Snakeskin” Edition, John Jaques & Son Ltd, circa 1914-18
